Cat & the Fiddle is a brand from Singapore, founded by the celebrity Pastry Chef Daniel Tay. It specialized in making a variety of cheesecakes. It is also Singapore’s First and Foremost Premium Halal-certified Cheesecake Retailer! It's great that we can taste it now in Malaysia.
Cat & the Fiddle was opened at Sunway Velocity Mall in December last year. I always wanted to try it and finally, my craving was satisfied. They are having a Buy 4 Free 1 promotion, so I chose five flavours out of 19 flavours. It was hard to choose though because every flavour looks so delicious.
1. Over the Moon – Classic New York (RM13.90/ per slice) (BEST SELLERS)
This is a fully baked cheesecake that is rich in savoury cream cheese and vanilla beans. It also tastes like yoghurt cake. Any cheese lover will definitely love it.
2. Sweet and Smokey Taffy – Sea Salted Caramel (RM13.90/ per slice)
The base is made with oreo biscuits, on top of it is a bed of dense cream cheese rests, cloaked under a layer of sea salt toffee. It is delicious but tastes quite sweet for me.
3. Sicilian Wild Cakes – Singapore’s Best Tiramisu (RM15.90/ per slice)
Spiked with espresso and constructed with mascarpone cheese, cream and espresso-soaked lady’s fingers. It melted once I put it into my mouth! No doubt this is the best tiramisu cake in Singapore.
4. The Russian Whiskers – Juicy Mango (RM15.90/ per slice)
A harmonic blend between mango and cheese.
Beneath the mango glaze is a cream cheese mixed with mango puree for a burst of tropical flair, while nestled within are finger-sponge biscuits. There is also shaved white chocolate at the side. I like this as the sweetness is just fine. The mango smells really good too.
5. Maneki Neko – Tangy Lemon & Yuzu (RM17.90/ per slice)
This Japanese-inspired cheesecake is light in texture but concentrated in flavour.
The taste is very refreshing, the combination of lemon and yuzu are perfect. The perfect cake to eat after eating to cut the grease of a rich meal.
Also, not to forget about their super cute packaging box. It has some cute cartoon designs. Each cake comes with a hard plastic cover and a cheese-liked box. This will protect the cake very well.
I am so happy that all these flavours I chose taste nice. Personally, I like Tiramisu and Mango flavour the most. Besides these five flavours, they also have other special flavours like Mao Shan Wang durian, Pandan Gula Melaka, Yuan Yang coffee & tea and many more.
The size of the cake is a little bit smaller than other slice cake and the price is a little pricey. However, it's worth a try if you haven’t tried it yet. Believe me, you won’t regret it.
