Gui Gui Korean BBQ @ Petaling Street, KL

I have been craving Korean food lately and finally, I get to go with my friends! It’s been a while since I last eat Korean food. Gui Gui Korean BBQ has an outlet at Solaris Mont Kiara. This Petaling Street shop is a new outlet. It received good reviews from Google so I’m quite looking forward to it.

The shop is located at Kwai Chai Hong, KL. You can go into the shop through the back door at Kwai Chai Hong. It’s a small shop with two storeys. The upper storey is not fully available yet. There is only one table available. Other customers will be dining downstairs. It has a full house during dinner time.

The shop design has simple industrial designs. The warm light makes it looks very cosy. Rows of barbecue tables are what an authentic Korean restaurant must have. I can’t wait to sit down and start eating! One of the attractive decorations was the “I think u are barbecute” sign. There is also a unique soju bottles wall.

After we sat down, the waiter gave us a menu to order.

We ordered Family Pack (Set 8), which is for 5-6 pax. It includes pork belly, pork shoulder, pork neck, pork ribs, kimchi cheese pancake and seaweed rice ball. They also served free cold roasted rice tea. It is very refreshing!

Besides, we were served with different side dishes before our food arrived. You can always refill the side dishes when it’s finished. Later, we were told that two of the pork were out of stock, so we changed to Tteokbokki with ramen and Daegu bulgogi.

BBQ pork

BBQ pork wrapped with kimchi and fresh lettuce leaves – I also added some Korean bean paste to increase the flavour.

Kimchi cheese pancake – this kimchi pancake is my favourite dish. The kimchi goes very well with the cheese and it’s not too spicy. This is highly addictive and I bet you will be asking for the second piece!

Seaweed rice ball – you can BBQ it for a better taste.

Tteokbokki with ramen – this is spicy but tastes great. The Tteokbokki is very soft and chewy. It also has fishcake and egg. Best eat while it’s still hot. (Luckily I manage to take photos before it was finished hehe)

Daegu bulgogi – this is marinated slices of pork grilled on a barbecue. It’s flavourful and tasty. I wrapped this with lettuce leaves too.

Overall this is a great dining experience. The food is delicious and the service is good. The waiter that served us is friendly and will check on us to ask whether we need anything from time to time. Definitely will come back next time.
